Battleship Cove
Battleship Cove, home among others to the USS Massachusetts, is one of the coolest historical military sites in New England. Here are some of photos from my weekend trip there.
Maple Sugaring in VT
Rain or shine snow or not, you can always count on the old timers of South Central Vermont to pull off a show. This snowless 2012 maple sugaring weekend was no different. I visited Elm Grove Farm and Sugarbush Farm both in scenic Pomfret Vermont and must admit it was odd seeing the billowing steam rising from the boiling huts without a flake of snow is sight. As usual, here is a sampling of the days shots!
From Junk to Gems
I've always been an explorer, form the woods back behind the house, to the many antique flea markets scattered across New England. This visit to a computer recycling and resale warehouse in Massachusetts was no different, and after a brief tour of the facility, I set to work with the camera. Above is a small sampling of the results.
A day in B-Town
Riding back to school on the Dartmouth Coach, I dug these shots up from my trip to boston last fall.
March is here...
Congrats WUHS Nordic
The Woodstock High school nordic team has done it again [won states] and this time sending three to nationals in Utah. I went along with them to the Vermont states in Jericho at the Ethan Allen Range and got some good stuff. Take a look HERE
Junkyard Jewels | Faded Glory
Just south of boston and before the cape, lies just one of the many roadside auto salvage yards you'll see while traveling through southern Mass. What really drew my attention the first time was the cold-war era missile propped up against the fence outside. I would have loved to go in, but the we were short on time and needed to get home. A few weeks later, while passing through the same stretch of roadway with a little more time to spare, we puled over and i was able to snap a few pictures. Take a look: HERE These cars really are Junkyard Jewels
Zacks Place Turkey Trot a success for all!
Walking on a winters day
A great day on a KC-135
Through the Civil Air Patrol program I had the opportunity to fly on one of these things [KC-135] for 3 hours refueling aircraft over the Atlantic Ocean. Check out the photos HERE
